They include axe heads which may have been used as tools, weapons like spearheads, fragments of swords, daggers and knives, as well as some other unusual objects, which are rarely found in the UK. WebFrom the dating evidence it would appear that the bank was used for boats and their upkeep, repair and probably building over a period of several centuries from the middle of the 2nd millennium B.C. by bronze-using people. There is no reason to suppose that these were any but the local inhabitants.
