WebOverview. Mt. Humphreys is an outstanding Sierra peak having no easy route to the summit. Standing just shy of 14,000ft in elevation, it so dominates its surroundings that it is one of the 15 Sierra Emblem Peaks so designated by the Sierra Club. No other Sierra peak to the north rises higher, and there are expansive views from the summit. WebHumphreys Peak is only viewed from selected points in Flagstaff and looks smaller then Agassiz. Many People will tell you that Agassiz Peak is Humphreys. People rarely climb this mountain. It's illegal to climb it. It's a shame considering that it's Arizona's only other mountain that is over 12,000 feet. It can only be observed.
